what passes for adventure when you're married

we may be married, mrs. nice guy and i, but we still know how to have an adventure. we can still get kooky-crazy on a whim and a lark, just as carefree as you please and zany in the head. take this morning: i am exhausted. i am sore. my back is killing me. i got maybe 2 hours of sleep last night.

why? because yesterday we decided to throw boring old convention into the wind. we are not afraid to get a little crazy around here!

last night we traded sides of the bed. we like to shake things up.

seriously? it was a bad idea. i haven't slept worse since the baby was 2 weeks old. i'm cranky and tired. i am never doing anything differently ever again.

Gabe and I had to switch sides of the bed while I was pregnant so that I could be closer to the bathroom.

I can't believe how disconcerting it can be to change something that is seemingly so mundane.

I hope you sleep better tongiht.

We did this recently too. Not on a whim like you wild and crazy people, but we had moved our bed to the opposite side of the room. I wanted "my" side, but now it was by the door and my crazy caveman of a husband has to "protect" me by sleeping on the door-side.

So we switched.

I slept awful the first few nights but I've adjusted. Mostly.

There are those times when he sidles up behind me for some conjugal visitation and, well, now it's BACKWARDS!!! Evidently, I'm right-sided when it comes to sex. I just can't seem to get it right from the other direction. LOL

I remember trying this with my first live-in boyfriend, and the very first night? We rolled over in our sleep at the same time and cracked our skulls together.

Side-switching is just *not* something we do around here! It's very, very bad. I'm not comfortable with change... Hopefully once you've switched back, all will be well again! May I ask what prompted this zaniness in the first place?

LOL! We have actually changed sides quite a few times without problems. I'm an easy sleeper and always pass out in a couple of minutes. Wife has more problems adjusting but she's getting better.

But I must agree with stay-at-home-mommy, it's great in the long run to mix things up.

By the way, I can't access your site from work for the past few months. . Could you cut down on the porn please... :-))

Nice weekend

Mr. Ames slept diagonally last night which I guess is his was of keeping me on my toes... or at least on my pillow. And he was sawing down trees with his power snore. Lovely. Good times in Carroll Gardens.

Gotta second that sleep number thing! Who needs vacation with uncomfortable beds? Just give me my select comfort.

That Guy I Married and I recently switched sides of the bed...and it SUCKED! I hate getting old. It makes us inflexible in more ways than one;)
