t-minus 13 hours till the move
we're just finishing up packing now. for the love of god, when did we acquire so much useless shit? and where was it all hiding in this tiny apartment?
more to come after the move. provided i survive.
UPDATE (1/19): well, i survived the move. so did the wife and child. i may not survive the unpacking and the DIY kitchen renovation, but that is something else entirely. i am currently slammed at work and computerless at home. will hopefully have more happy fun posts on sat or tues. meantime, enjoy this short video of Donna Stoneman shredding it up on electric mandolin while wearing momjeans. i think i'm in love:

where are you moving???
good luck! it is awful but then when you get in the house, so good!
just about a mile down the road, anon. so fear not: we're keeping it brooklyn real ... as real as two park slope yuptards with a toddler can keep it anyway.
Good luck with the move. Don't forget the Elmo DVD.
Word on the crap acquirement. When we moved in July we rented a dumpster to get rid of it all. My mother-in-law saw on my blog that we'd rented a dumpster and couldn't understand why.
We completely filled the damn thing.
good luck with your move!
Good luck, NG Family!
I fondly remember the day when my husband and I moved into our first house and realized we had ABSOLUTELY NO FURNITURE on the first floor. The bedrooms, yes. Offices, yes. Laundry room, yes.
Living room and dining room? No.
I wish I could relive those minimal stuff days again...
The dumpster is a great idea. You have probably accumulated a lot of useless or outdated, or just plain worn out stuff. It is amazing how that happens. Wait until your next move!
Good luck on the move. Sorry we are on the L. Coast.
You cannot pack too much.

Burn everything and embrace your new zen-like existence.
Keep a "donate" box open in every room. As you unpack, either put it away or give it away. Even if you did this while packing, do it again. You'll be amazed at how much you will happily be rid of.
Welcome to your new home. Soon it will feel completely yours.
good idea, anon!
Congratulations on the move, packing stinks, etc., but also: Huh -- is that gentleman with the cane (in the video) Doodles Weaver?
