here's the thing angie, and momily-san before you ... he could blow. he was the best. he was fucking brilliant. and so watching him do a bad disco version of 'st. louis woman' on the muppet show is a little akin to reducing einstein's image to a cheeky outstretched tongue and big frizzy hair. yes, he's cute. fine. but he changed the rules of the universe once. remember?
Not depressing. It seems many of the greats were on the old muppets shows. It is what happened to tv that is depressing. This was awesome, and so was Stevie Wonder, etc.

Dizzy could blow, even when he was on bizarre showman mode, like here, but the muppets were always a little creepy.
